The transformation

The tree has many forms and my journey to capture the movements might just keep continuing because I can't get enough of it. It's sort of crazy but I think I'm obsessed with Trees. :)
This marks the second birth of the tree block. I'm so proud of the block carver who carved this for me, and I'm sorry that I made it so complicated for him. Hopefully he doesn't hate me too much.

Saturday Morning

India is great for still retaining the hand dyers, the printers, and the tailors. And working on Ichcha has brought into light how many things we can do for ourselves utilizing these great tools.  Like for example, most of the clothing for the wedding was designed by us and we were the ones running around getting things dyed. Multiple trips were taking to the hand dyer shop in the middle of chaos until we got the correct shade. The dress for the Haldi ceremony was printed at our Block printing community, making it it even more special. We chose the blocks and the placement of each mark. Here are a few pics I'd like to share of our dyeing extravaganza.

2013 - Travels Through the Streets of India Part 1

Travel through the streets of India, face the reality of the world, and soak up the treasures of an ancient country. Each year our trip starts off with anxious nerves and excitement of new cities as well as old friends. Soon, without knowing it, the time is up and we're packing up our goodies for our way back home. And now we unveil all we saw to you, our friends. ENJOY!

The beginning...

Working on the next round of inspiration! Will share them shortly.

Who loves Block Prints?

It's feels so good to see companies hand block printing and having success at it.

Galbraith & Paul are doing an exceptional job at employing artists to carve linoleum blocks and print textiles with fresh and light colors. You can't help but get attracted to the sophisticated patterns and colors.
